Year 6 2019 - 2020

Mr Bagguley

Teacher Y6, Upper Key Stage 2 Leader

Mrs Marron

Teacher Y6

Welcome to Year 6 2019/20!

LETTERS FROM THE CLASS TEACHER FOR JUNE HAVE BEEN UPLOADED!

Class e-mail address to use during school closure is

Y6IM

Y6-IM@broadstonehall.stockport.sch.uk

Y6AB

Y6-AB@broadstonehall.stockport.sch.uk

In an effort to improve communication between pupils and their teachers during this uniquely challenging time, we have set up class e-mail accounts. The idea is that children can e-mail work to teachers and receive feedback, during school hours. Teachers will log onto the e-mail accounts and respond to pupils work and queries during the school day, when they are not on duty looking after children of key worker parents at school.

This service will only be available during the lockdown period and once we are back in school again, it will be discontinued.

Please do not use this e-mail address for general queries, questions or complaints, these should all be directed to the school office in the first instance.

We hope that your children find this service useful, during a time when they are not able to have their normal contact with their class teacher.

Our children bring enthusiasm, a positive attitude to learning and fun to our classrooms every day whilst promoting our school values of being caring, respectful and co-operative.

How you can help at home...

  • Please ensure your child revises the Y5 statutory spellings and learns the new Y6 word list. Both documents are available to download at the bottom of this page.
  • Ensure that your child reads every night!
  • Ask questions about the book your child is reading to develop their comprehension skills. A list of example questions are again at the bottom of the page.
  • Make sure your child brings their reading book to school every day and their reading record has been signed.
  • Encourage them to read as many books as possible from the Y6 recommended texts list (at the bottom of the page).
  • Ensure that your child knows the timestables up to 12x12 and the corresponding division facts off by heart.
  • Check their PE kit is in school every day.
  • Encourage them to go on My Maths regularly. Each child will be set weekly activities to complete on the website.
