Please come and hear your child read on World Book Day 2020

Don't forget it is World Book Day on Thursday 5th March 2020.

We would like to invite all parents/carers from KS1 & KS2 (Reception-Year 6) on the day itself to come into school from 9.00am - 9.30am for an informal reading session in your child's class.

PLEASE WAIT IN THE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND UNTIL ALL THE CHILDREN ARE IN SCHOOL AND REGISTERED. Mr. Langley will then be able to invite you in to school. You will sign in at your respective child's classroom.

At 9.25am we will start gathering all parents up to leave the building to continue our school day.

(Nursery - only Pears & Fruit Salads will be taking part as it falls on Thursday, however, parents will not be able to come in as it is too disruptive for Nursery children.)

Please do not stress about outfits, anything goes, shop bought or homemade, or simply just made up! The whole point is to inspire and stimulate the children's imaginations to read. The children can dress up as ANY character from any book, even better if they have the book to bring in and show their class! There are no constraints on what they can wear.

Bearing that in mind, help us encourage their love of books and reading with their costume. World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children. To help them continue their reading journey, every child receives a £1 World Book Day Token. You can find out more about the books at worldbookday.com/books

Children are never too young to start their journey with books, and the benefits of reading are enormous-so we hope, like us, you will use World Book Day to celebrate with your child.

Thank you for your support
