Changes for the Summer Term - Afterschool Clubs and Activities Summer (1) Term
 Starting Monday 15^th April 2024 – Friday 24^th May 2024

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you will all be very aware as a school, we pride ourselves on offering a wide range of after school clubs and activities for children from Reception to Year 6.  Our clubs are charged on a half termly basis and are booked on a first come first served basis.  Clubs run for the full half term.

As some of you will remember earlier this term the Local Authority conducted a Poverty Proofing Survey, that lots of school stake holders provided feedback about what we do in school in a range of areas.  One of the main issues that came out of this work, was that parents felt that clubs were too expensive and the children questioned the quality of the clubs.  Therefore, as a school we have taken all this feedback onboard and decided to bring the vast majority of clubs under the school control we can cap the price at £5 per club per week. Some clubs have changed, some have been discontinued.

Broadstone Clubs              will be charged per half term via www.parentpay.com at a price of £5.00 session

Guitar Club                          (Front Row Music - external company)

BROADSTONE CLUBS TO BOOK ON PARENT PAY FROM THURSDAY 28^th MARCH @ 8pm to allow all parents the equal opportunity to sign up. If a club is full, you can add your name to a Waiting List so demand can be considered.

As this is a new way of working and making clubs cheaper for all we ask for your patience.  We currently don’t know what the demand for each club will be so we will do our best to accommodate numbers but this will be on a first come first served basis. If the demand is bigger than what we can offer we will grow each club term by term.

School Teams

In the interest of fairness to all, exclusive team practice has been disbanded. Children will be chosen to represent the school at external sporting tournaments dependent on commitment & performance in school.

Free Pupil premium places

As part of our commitment to inclusion we do not want any child to miss out on clubs due to financial barriers.  Therefore, every club we offer has a small number of funded places offered to pupil premium children.  These places can be requested by parents and will be allocated by school as appropriate.  Teachers can also nominate children who they think will benefit from a particular club.

The HUB

The HUB, our wraparound care is available to book for a discounted price for part sessions if you attend AFTER a school club. Please contact [email protected] for a Registration Form.

Afterschool Clubs will always start the first week back of the term & will run EVERY week of a school term including the last day of term (Spring, Summer & Autumn)
