Welcome Back to Spring 2 & World Book Day 2020!

Welcome Back to Spring 2!

We hope you all had a lovely break, albeit wet & windy! Afterschool Clubs all start again this week - the deadline for signing up is Friday 28th February, be quick to avoid disappointment!

In other news, World Book Day takes place next week on Thursday 5th March 2020. Please join us in helping your child to make the most of this special occasion.

This year the children can dress up as ANY character from a book, even better if they have the book to bring in and show their class! There are no constraints on what they can wear, but the whole point of World Book Day is to inspire and stimulate the children's imaginations. So, bearing that in mind, help us encourage their love of books and reading with their costume. World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children.

We would also like to invite all parents/carers from KS1 & KS2 (Reception-Year 6) on the day itself to come into school from 9.00am - 9.15am for an informal reading session in your child's class.

(Nursery - only Pears & Fruit Salads will be taking part as it falls on Thursday, however, parents will not be able to come in as it is too disruptive for Nursery children.)

To help them continue their reading journey, every child receives a £1 World Book Day Token. You can find out more about the books at worldbookday.com/books

Children are never too young to start their journey with books, and the benefits of reading are enormous-so we hope, like us, you will use World Book Day to celebrate with your child.

Thank you for your support
