Beginning of a New Chapter & New Ethos

Dear Parents and Carers,

As I near the end of my first two full weeks as Headteacher at Broadstone Hall I thought I would provide you with a short update. I would like to start by saying what amazing children you have and what a pleasure it has been for me to work alongside such polite and well-mannered children. They are a credit to you all.

Since I started my role I have prioritised building relationships with the whole school community and observing the daily workings of our school. My priority for this first half term is to develop a new ethos at Broadstone Hall that captures what we are about and how we all behave towards each other this includes children, staff and parents. I am working with the staff to develop our ethos and from this we will develop a new behaviour policy that challenges inappropriate behaviour but more importantly for me rewards the fantastic behaviour on display at our school each and every day. This will be completed by half term and will be launched on Monday 21st February. Our ethos and values will become the foundation for all our future developments including the curriculum. This is a very exciting time for Broadstone Hall and the beginning of a new chapter.

I will be sending questionnaires out to all parents next week to allow you to influence our way forward. Can I request all parents complete and return the questionnaires to ensure I have a greater understanding of what you as parents want moving forward.

Broadstone Hall is a community and our future vision needs to involve all members of that community to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for all your children.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Taylor
Headteacher
