Reading
English lies at the heart of all learning and the curriculum. At Broadstone Hall Primary School, we believe that a quality English curriculum should develop children’s love of reading, writing and discussion. We aim to inspire an appreciation of our rich and varied literary heritage and develop a habit of reading widely. This starts with a systematic synthetic phonics programme which gives our children essential decoding skills. To ensure that our children are confident in the art of speaking and listening, we use discussion to communicate and further their learning in all areas of the curriculum.
