Inclusion

At Broadstone Hall Primary School , we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive learning environment for all our learners enabling them to thrive and create a real love of learning. We work with children who have a wide range of special educational needs and their families. Our SEND philosophy places children with SEND at the heart of our curriculum, personalising learning and provision to meet individual children’s needs. All pupils follow the National Curriculum at a level and pace suitable for their ability. We are committed to:

  • Following the ‘Assess, Plan, Do, Review’ cycle, using SMART targets to ensure all children make progress

  • Adapt teaching and learning materials to meet individual needs

  • Provide assistive technologies and equipment

  • Use flexible groupings and small group work where needed

  • Continuing to develop an innovative, exciting and supportive curriculum

  • The appropriate use of sanctions and rewards

  • Mentoring and counselling

  • A broad range of extra-curricular activities, trips and experiences for all pupils

  • Assessment procedures that emphasise children’s strengths and achievements, used as a tool to identify next steps

  • Act upon child and parent voice
